Digital papers and brushstrokes

I'm making some progress in the interaction of brushes and drawing instruments, like crayons and paper textures, I simulated Ingres paper (with those beautiful stripes in a lower tone) that creates a very interesting pattern when you pass the colored pencil or crayon. It's very simple to do and for that I tested two methods: with and without layer mask. With a layer mask the result looks less glaring and more harmonious, but the layer overlay method also works well. Howto First of all you need to create the desired texture. There is abundant documentation about it on the web, but soon my observations and tips about it.

1 - Layer Mask Method

You simply need to create a layer mask in the level you are going to draw and insert the paper texture on it (select the mask relating to the drawing).
With a layer mask, the crayon gently impregnates the texture of the paper.

2 - Two normal layers method

Create a transparent layer where you will draw and immediately place a new layer under this layer with the desired texture.
With the two levels added together, the crayon remains more pasty with the texture of the paper.
It seems to me that the choice between the two methods is ultimately a matter of personal taste.
